November nodded a little bit and went over to the two horses "Hello Lyrical" she murmered, stroaking his forehead before moving to the mare "And Hello Magdaline" she said, stroaking the mares forehead as well before moving away from the horses. She looked at them admiringly, the really were beautiful horses. She'd always had a special place in her heart for horses such as Gypsy Vanners and Friesians. She tipped her head to one side, watching the stallion. He was beautiful, she was ALMOST jealous. Almost. But not quite. November wasn't the jealous type, besides, the first horse she ever wanted to own was a Thoroughbred.
She startled slightly when Kaspar spoke, lost off in her own world for a moment there. A World of horses, what a wonderful world it would be. She looked back to the girl "I think all the 'English' horses" she said with a nod "I don't ride western" she shook her head and turned on heel, going to stall across the way from Kaspar's horses...
This barn held the Instructors horses and some of the horses off limits from Students. A sign on out front of the barn and another sign on the door of the barn read in big letters No Student Access. Of course It went into further detail below the large print in smaller print. And If you were a student caught in that barn you would be punished. JI's were not normally allowed in this barn either, however November and Kaspar were not your typical JI. And They were the only ones permitted into the barn.
November slipped a hand through the bars of the stall she stood in front of, extending it out for the two year old filly to smell. A little smile crossed November's lips and it remained there. She opened the stall door and slipped into it with the filly and smiled a little bit "Hi Mag" she murmered as she stepped up to the horse, starting with her hand on the horses cheek and working its way over her body. She was silent as she did this, completely wrapped up in the presence of the horse.

The girl smiled as she watched November interact with the horse she had called Mag. "She's a beauty," she said with a small smile, extending her hand for the mare to sniff. She glanced over her shoulder as she moved off toward the Academy Horse's barn, pausing a little. "Would you like to ride Lyrical?" she asked over her shoulder, turning and coming back. "Or Magdaline, for that matter," she added with an affectionate smile as she looked toward the mare who was standing in her stall with a sleepy, rather dopey look on her pretty head.
Kaspar smiled and moved away. "Their tack is in the tack room if you'd like to ride them," she said, walking toward the barn. She smiled as she moved into the Academy Barn. Most of the advanced horses were a little highstrung, since, up till now, there really hadn't been enough people around to get them ridden, and she decided to start with them. She filled her cheeks with air, giving her the appearance of a chipmunk as she gazed at the list of Advanced Western horses. Finally, Crayola, a red roan, 7 year old, quarter horse mare was chosen to be ridden first. "Ok, girl," Kaspar murmured, slipping the purple halter over the mare's nose. "I'm a bit rusty, so take it easy." The mare tossed her head mischieviously as Kaspar began running the body brush over the mare's gleaming coat. She had little need for grooming, but for a few pieces of straw here and there, nothing major, just a quick brushing.
Finally, Kaspar swung the saddle over and cinched it up, then slipped the gently D-ring snaffle into Crayola's mouth. She led the mare toward the Private barn to see what November was up to. "Are you gonna come ride?" she askd, unable to see either Lyrical or Magdaline to see if she had chosen to tack up and ride.

She had taken Mag, otherwise known as Silver Magnolia, from her stall and cross tied her in the aisle way. She'd ran the brush over her dark coat, talking in a low voice to her the whole time. The filly moved her feet alot, and wasn't particularly comfortable, jumping at every little sound. She'd nearly wripped a cross tie from the wall when she'd heard heard a rat scurry across the ground near her feet. November whispered calmly to her, assuring her that nothing was going to eat her. She'd disapeared into one of the tack rooms and came out with a racing saddle.
As Kaspar came back into the barn November was unclipping both the cross ties on the horse and taking the lead rope firmly in her hand. She glanced at the mares face and tossed the pad and saddle up onto the horses back with one arm, grasping the rope firmly. The mare spooked slightly as the saddle was thrown onto her back and tossed her head, snorting nervously. November waiting for the filly to chill, standing calmly, her grasp on the rope still firm. As soon as the mare calmed as much as she was going to November stepped towards her and tossed the cinch down off the top of the saddle. The Filly spooked at this too "Oh get over it" November rolled her eyes. She leaned under the horse slightly and grabbed hold of the cinch. She cinched it up tight in one tight pull, causing a train reaction. The filly reared up and struck out at November. November just jumped back, looking at the filly unamusedly "Well that was rude" she mumbled and tightended the cinch once more, getting the same reaction. This time she was ready for it and smacked the filly with the end of her rope "Knock it off" she snapped. November sighed a little and led the filly over to the tack room, making her stand outside the door as November grabbed hold of a racing bridle and a extra dressage bridle with a apple flavored bit, definately made for young horses. She slipped the racing bridle onto the filly and looked to Kaspar "Ready" she said with a slight nod. November was tired and mildly off, that may have been partly why she had yelled at the filly, just over reacting a little.
She walked side by side with Kaspar, leading Mag, not reacting to any of the fillys little reactions to every little thing. The Filly was obviously bothered by the cinch and reared up a couple more times on the way to the arena, finally getting over it. When they reached the arena she patted the fillys neck firmly "See, its not so bad" she murmered as she took the lead rope off of the halter that the filly wore under the bridle and grabbed hold of the reins. She looked to Kaspar "So...this will only be my second time on her. But after I get her used to stuff I was thinking we could go out on the track...I'll take it easy on you" she said, playfulness in her voice.

Kaspar smiled as she watched November work with the nervous filly. She led Crayola easilly up to the ring, but she soon found why the mare was advanced. Every so often, when Kaspar was watching November and Mag, the 7 year old would reach out and try to take a bite out of Kaspar's sweatshirt. The first couple of times she didn't even really feel it. Then the mare got her good, and she yelped and slapped the mare once with the leather reins, not harshly. The mare seemed oblivious to this, not even flinching as the leather slapped her chest. Rather, she whinnied loudly like she had pulled some great joke, and Kaspar stocked forward. She felt the mare clamp onto her sweatshirt again, and she turned on her, whacking her across the nose, again, not hard. "I'll give you one more chance " she sang. "And if you don't behave, I'll turn you into a goon!" she quoted the Good Fairy from the song Little Bunny Foo-foo as she continued to walk along.
As Mag reared, and Kaspar was momentarilly distracted with the filly's antics, Crayola reached out and bit hard. Yelping and furiously blinking back tears, Kaspar wheeled on her and thumped her with all her might across her nose, once, twice, three times, and Crayola backed up several steps. It hadn't hurt her, but she was obviously surprised by this new severity. She regaurded Kaspar with a look that said "what was that for, I was just playing!" like some little kid who had gotten in trouble for repeatedly pulling his sister's hair. Kaspar regaurded her again harshly, feeling her arm hesitantly. It was dedinately scraped up. "B*tch" she mumbled, turning to November. "What was that?" she asked, regaurding Crayola warilly, now not daring to let her out of her sights. "At the track?" she asked and smiled, still watching Crayola as she opened the door to the arena. "You'll slaughter me, but sure."
Before Crayola had time to snap at her, she checked her girth and swung on, settling her boots easilly in the stirrups. As Kaspar was adjusting, Crayola took the bit in her teeth and launched forward, but Kaspar felt her muscles bunch and pulled her back before she could rocket off. "Good g*d, Mare!" she exclaimed, forcing the mare to back the few steps Kaspar had allowed her to take, until she was back where they had started. She made Crayola wait, then nudged her forward, keeping the mare to an easy walk, keeping her own energy and demaner calm and steady, even the rythm to which she moved, although ocassionally her rhythm didn't match Crayola's.

November watched the mare and Kaspar for a moment before slipping into the arena with the filly. She gathered the reins up in her hand, having a little difficulty. November was a short girl, and the filly, well the filly was not. Two years old and already standing at nearly 17hh, She was certainly NOT a small horse.
November gathered the reins and a handful of mane as she tossed her foot up into the stirrup. The mare spooked as November pulled herself up and when she felt the weight on one side of her she reared. November grip tightened on the horses mane and she leaned over as to not be thrown off, pulling mercilessly on the bit so it burned the fillys mouth. The filly calmed only mildly just enough for November to swing her leg up over. She caught her foot in the other stirrup and gathered up on the reins, massaging the bit in the fillys mouth. She sat back as to keep her balance if the filly tried to pull anything. As soon as she felt the filly calm down a bit she pressed her heels into her sides asking her forward. She kicked her when she didn't move and the filly reared. November pressed the filly on.
For a long while it was a very tramatic time for the filly but after about 45 minutes in November had her cantering around the arena with ease, falling into the fact that she had a rider, handling it well. She wore a acheived look on her face. She had only been thrown once and had just gotten right back up on the filly. She looked over to Kaspar as she slowed the filly "To the track?" she asked curiously.

Kaspar had been having her problems with Crayola, too.."Gosh horse, I wouldn't want to be the one assigned to you," she mumbled, focused so totally on the mare who was most definately not being easy on the girl. Her arms were burning from trying to keep her in the track she had set out, and her teeth were clenched with the reins wrapped around her hands to keep them from being ripped from her grasp.
Finally, she heard November, and her head jerked a little as she forced the mare, having to do a one rein halt, to stop. She nodded a little. "It'll be good. She needs to run off her b*tchy energy," Kaspar replied.
