The girl nodded and walked over to the drink table. She grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and poured herself some lemonade, and came back over, careful not to spill her over full glass. She dropped the bottle before him and set the cup down before sliding in.

She watched him push the jello away. "That's all your having?" she asked incredulously, finishing off the first roll and buttering the second of three.

He nodded a tiny bit "Full" he said quietly and gave her a smile "I have a ittle stomach" he laughed a little and patted his overly flat stomach before grabbing the bottle of water. He looked about him as he twisted the top off the bottle "This place is really empty" he mumbled quietly and nodded. Duh, Kodee, duh the place was empty, that was obvious. He sighed a little, just trying to make conversation he supposed. He wanted to talk to her now. He didn't want to be quiet like he had before. She'd won over his trust and it hadn't taken long at all. And now, he didn't mind talking to her, in fact, he wanted to.

He looked around and heaved a sigh, turning and kicking his legs up so they and his feet rested out on the long bench that he sat upon. He looked about the empty place again, taking note to a couple splotches on the wall across the way from him, looking to be caused by spaghetti sauce. Little did the two of them know but that was indeed what it was caused by, last year, there had been quite the food fight between students at the academy. It had caused alot of trouble since everybody was involved, even the people that were supposed to be in charge, so the dining hall was a mess and there really was no one to blame. Therefore everybody was put to work cleaning it up, which only turned into more of a mess, because the fight began again with the sudsy water, sponges and wet wash clothes flying all over the place and by the end of things, everybody was soaked, the place looked a little cleaner though. It'd been all around fun. Apparently, some spots had been missed, and no one bothered to clean it up.

Kodee looked to the oposite wall of white, sighing a little, the dining hall was extremely white and looked much like a cell you'd have in a mental ward, momentarily feeling as if he was in one. He'd always wondered what a straight jacket felt like. He smiled a little at the thought and excused it, looking back to Maysa with a tiny smile.

The girl heaved a sigh. "Obviously," she replied softly, finishing her rolls. "Are you ready then?" she asked, rising and draning the last of the lemonade, tossing the empty paper cup in the garbage. She heaved a sigh and smiled at him.

"So..Do you have a horse?" she asked curiously, glancing up at him as she quietly linked her fingers through his, glancing up at him expectantly. "Or are you using an academy horse?" she opened the door and slid through, holding it for him.

He nodded a little bit with a tiny smile "Yeah lets go" he said quietly, standing and grasping her hand. Keeping hold on his water bottle in his other hand as he headed to the door. He hit the light switches with his water bottle to flip them off, the building going dark. It was habbit for him to turn off lights when he was leaving and after the fact he figured they could just turn them back on if anybody needed them.

He walked out into the darkness, a chilly breeze blowing and he scootched in closer to her, heading in the direction of the dorms "Which girly dorm are you in?" he asked with a little smile, his fingers playing with hers, lacing and unlacing with them. He glanced at her curiously, awaiting her answer. He gazed at her, taking in the shape of her face, and her nose, it was unique and he really liked it. He watched some of the hair that fell in her face and slowly reached over to push it back, nodding approvingly, much better, now she couldn't hide her beautiful face behind her ear, and he smiled a little, admiring her.

((OOC: *giggles* Niiiice!)) :P

The girl smiled and nodded, quietly following him out. "Arabian," she responded, the night hiding her blush as he pushed her hair away from her face. She gave his hand a squeeze and glanced at the stand of trees expectantly, waiting for its resident owl to greet them, but he wasn't there. Elsewhere, hunting. Eating poor little, innocent wood mice, probably, who had never done anything to hurt him. Maysa rolled her eyes at her own line of thought. After all, the cows she ate in her hamburgurs hadn't done anything to her either, but she ate them anyway.

She followed the twisting path up to the dorm, falling off into her own little world a bit. She heaved a sigh, breathing in the crisp night. She shivered a bit, but her mind wasn't really on the temperature. "Why am I so stupid?" she asked, glancing up at Kodee. "I mean..Seriously. Fall is almost over, you'd think I'd be smart enough to put a sweatshirt on, don't you think?" she asked. But then again, she reasoned, she hadn't been expecting to stay out until after dark. The days were still warm, but the nights, as always, were chilly.

The lights of the "main drag" faded behind them and they walked on having only the light of the moon. It was a bit romantic, if Maysa did say so herself. A moonlight walk through a nice little forest. She heaved a sigh as the silence was broken by the screaming of girls having some kind of pillow fight in the Appaloosa dorm. "Glad I'm in Arab," she mumbled, words barely distinguisable, she muttered them so, hands still linked through his.

He shrugged a little as he walked along with her, mind elsewhere. He hadn't really heard what her little question was about but he didn't mind "You're not stupid" he said quietly as a simply response, seemed to cover all the basis, right? Yes, yes it did. He looked about the darkness with a little sigh, not particularly ready for bed, night was usually his time to well do stuff. He liked night better, but he didn't really wanna get in trouble here, he really didn't wanna get in trouble anywhere, despite what people thought or said, he really didn't like being in trouble. In a way, it was attention, right?

He looked towards the dorm that held the pillow fight and he smiled a little, catching a glance through the window, one of the girls seemed fairly young, she looked to be having much fun, her smile brought one to his face. He watched for only a minute before glancing back at Maysa, heading towards the Arab dorm "Its this way, right?" he asked as he took a turn behind the appaloosa dorm, walking into more darkness, no longer getting any light from within the dorm or from the main drag.

His own question was answered as they approached a dorm Arabian written across the front in fancy writing on the door, it had been done by Anna a while back and she just went back over it regularly to keep it pretty. He walked up the steps with her and opened the door to the dorm, going in with her, the door closing behind them, he looked to her and gave her a lil smile "Here we are" he said quietly with a little nod, releasing her hand, his hand rising to brush through his dark curls. He looked at her a moment and then around "I guess I'll catch ya later" he said with a slight nod, inching back to the door.

The girl heaved a sigh as they approached her dorm. She slid in the door and let her fingers slide through his, heaving a sigh as she sat down on the edge of her bed. She glanced at her alarm clock, getting up for a second to flip on the light before plopping down again. She looked at the clock for a second time. "We've still got 20 mintues till lights out," she murmured softly, glancing at him hopefully, but it would have been hard to pick out in her eyes.

She looked at him carefully, her usual doubts and fears about people flooding back, despite the wonderful evening she'd had. She always wondered. Was she just some chick to get his mind of deeper feelings? This was something that always scared her

She finally decided she wasn't really worth it and grabbed a magazine. "Well, have a good night," she said, smiling as she lay back on her pillows and grabbed a horse magazine. An Arabian looking horse appeared to be going through Dressage movements on the cover. She wasn't trying to be dismissive, but, like always, she fell off in her own world of doubts. She hated it, but it was something she hadn't been able to change yet. It was something she hoped to give a makeover in the near future. But not now. She knew that going through that doubtful part of her mind and she would do it when she was by herself. On a nice, long, lonely trail ride when nobody would see her cry.

Kodee nodded a little bit "Good night Maysa" he said quietly, his voice holding alot of meaning to it, seemingly saying he had a good time tonight, he was thank ful for her company and he'd be seeing her around. All this was held in three words and the tone of his voice. He twisted the handle of the door and wandered out, wandering back to his dorm. He took his time getting back, his mind on things now that he was alone, things he didn't want his mind to be on, he needed drugs, now, he just had to have them, and he felt himself going to his dark place again. His fists clentched together slowly, trying to take his mind away from these things, trying to focus his thoughts on Maysa, but slowly she slipped from his mind, the druggy side taking over, he tried to fight it, but he couldn't and slowly he was overwhelmed with and urgent need. A horrible wanting. Slowly the Kodee we knew just minutes before slipped away from himself.

Pale hand grasped the handle of the boys dorm and slowly twisted it to open it, slowly, Kodee pushed the door open and walked into the room. He hurridly went to his bedside, getting into a pair of jeans he left on the ground, grabbing a pocket knife from the back pocket. He glanced around, still 15 minutes till lights off and the other boys appeared not to be here. He slipped into the bathroom and closed the door, locking it. His stomach seemed to hollar, making loud hungry sounds and he brought a hand up, gripping his hair. He shook his head, his face not his, eyes set. He slowly went to the shower, flipping it on. He tried to think happy thoughts but they were forced away by this urge and slowly he climbed into the shower. Slowly he slipped his sweatshirt off and threw it aside as he was soaked by the running shower. He looked to his arms a moment, seemingly sizing them up before he flipped the pocket knife open, revealing the decent blade. He looked to his arms again and before he could even stop himself, thick red fell from his pale arm as the blade met skin. Slowly the water below him turned red before disapearing down the drain. He just watched as he dug the blade in deeper then slowly drug it up, appearing as if he didn't feel it. He watched it bleed endlessly as he pulled the blade from it. He watched the blood, fixed on it a moment before he slowly looked to the other arm, blade met the skin and soon the blood fell from that arm too, mixing with the water before disapearing into the drain. Kodee set the knife aside, watching his deep wounds bleed, these weren't just Emo cuts, these were the real deal, the real thing, he meant it. Slowly Kodee's back slid down the the bathtub, slowly Kodee was soaked by pouring rain, slowly Kodee's life slipped from him as the blood fell from his arms, slowly Kodee faded from the world. Why now? What had come over him? Why did he do this now? After such a great thing today with such an amazing girl, why now? And as he lay the thoughts ran through his head until he'd bled so much he couldn't really think anymore. The pain had been to much, the want had been too much, he just...couldn't handle it. It almost, almost, hadn't been Kodee. It'd been some wierd force that'd taken him over. And as he continued to slowly slip away thoughts of Maysa flooded his mind till he seemed to blank out of conciousness, his survival left on somebody else now, he couldn't save himself now...

<< -- This is what happens when you leave me by myself miss Erika. This is what happens. Look Now Kodee's dying. haha. Someone named Missy is a lil dramatic. But I really like it. I think its a good post. Anyways. Save Kodee's life! Quick.

((OOC: *giggles* Ok. Well. Watch. You're the one who brought on the drama, so it's not my fault. :P *giggle* Ok, here we go. *wiggles fingers over keyes excitedly* Oh, you totally can't blame me for the drama this time!!!))

Maysa rolled over on the bed and glanced at the alarm clock. Something caught her eye. Something shiny that didn't belong to her, nor any of the other girls she knew. She didn't know what it was, but it must have been Kodee's. She glanced at the clock again, then out at the night. She had always been a bit wussy that way, as far as the dark goes. But she convinced herself. What if something went horribly wrong, like it was something valuable, and he thought that maybe she had stolen it? She shook her head. No, almost every dorm was within hollering distance if she got in trouble. She gently shoved the what-cha-ma-callit into her pocket and grabbed a jacket that she slung over her arms even as she walked out the door.

The trail up to the boys' dorm seemed long as she trudged the uphill trail that was little more than a deerpath. She heaved a sigh, hands shoved in the pockets of her jacket.

She startled a bit, feeling jumpy as the resident owl hooted and his...or her's she thought with a small smile, wings swooped softly over her. She felt like the owl would have been close enough for her to touch if she had only reached out her hand, like she might have grazed his wings, and caught them, and been able to fly herself. She knew this was untrue.

The light from the boy's dorm glowed softly as she got closer. She heaved a sigh as she scaled the couple steps onto the porch and peered in the doorway. "Kodee?" she called softly, fingering the what-cha-ma-callit in her pocket. She could hear the shower running, and making a split second decision, she slipped in, figuring she would just peak her head in the door and tell him she had set it on his nightstand.

She knocked softly on the bathroom door, then pounded a bit before slowly, nervously turning the handle, wondering if he was going to be ticked at her. "Kodee?" she called softly, just settingher mouth against the door so he could hear her. Still the shower ran and no answer came, so finally she slid her head in the door.

She gasped at the sight that greeted her, and she bit back a scream, clamping down on her lip until she drew blood. "Kodee?" she gasped, swinging the door open, cringing a bit as it banged against the wall, but she was already kneeling by him, touching him here and there, although she really had no idea what she was doing, or looking for. Only that he looked pale. That his hands were so pale. How could she not have noticed?! She had held his hand almost all evening, and yet she hadn't noticed it. She didn't even let herself blame the dark, the lighting. They had been in the cafeteria for a bit. She should have seen. She should have known!! Again, she didn't let herself lay the blame on anyone else.

She bit back tears as she flew out of the room, going for help, feeling all kinds of guilt flowing through her mind, making her shake. If only this and if only that, and oh how she should have known! She flew down the trail, stumbling and falling on a rock, seeing the ground rush toward her face, shoving her hands out to catch herself, wincing as the harsh gravel of the trail bit into her hands.

She didn't let herself dwell on her physical pain. The JI dorm was there, but no. They were just kids, not that much older than her. She was so out of shape. She gasped for breath, but the adrenaline rushing through her veins kept her running, hauling for all she was worth for the big house.

"Beth, Anna!" Maysa yelled, trying hard not to cry. Beth was in her bathrobe. "What, what?!" Beth yelped, dashing down the stairs, holding her bathrobe around her, her bare feet thudding softly on the steps, wondering what on earth had brought a student to the big house rather than the JI's Dorm.

"It's Kodee," Maysa gasped, doubled over, trying to get her breath, blurting out what she knew. "Kodee Skipper. I went up to return something to him, that he dropped. And..And.." she gasped, choking almost. "I found him...in the shower.." she glanced at Beth with fear. She wasn't even supposed to be in the boy's dorm. Tears welled in her eyes. "I thought..He was in the shower, and so I thought I'd just peak in and tell him that I had returned it." She bit her lip, but Beth just nodded, telling her she understood, that the girl wasn't in trouble. "And..he was just...laying there..and..a pocket knife..I think he cut himself.."

Beth shook her head, already running down the hall to a phone. "Go back to the dorm, I'll be up in half a second, just let me call an ambulance." Maysa was already racing out the door, shaking, gasping for breath, hauling up the trails, trying hard not to whimper at the uphill strain of the trails. "Kodee!" she gasped, tears streaming down her face.

"Kodee," she mumbled, falling to her knees beside him, reaching out hesitantly, then drawing back, wondering if, medically, she was supposed to touch him. She plopped down all the way, but stood up almost instantly to turn off the shower before practically falling back down, curling her arms around her knees again and resting her chin on her knees, crying silently, tears sliding slowly down her cheeks. Why had she let him go? Now she wish she could just turn back time. Silently, gingerly, she reached out and gave his hand a squeeze. But the past is the past and you can't change the past, she told herself. All she could do was give his hand a squeeze, let him know that she was there, if he was even still aware...

Kodee slowly slipped in and out of awareness as the blood flowed endlessly from the deep gashs in his arm, the deep gashs that made a statement I don't want to live anymore, the deep gashs that said so much. Kodee slipped in and out, not there, away from all this pain, then back to it, back to all the pain and hurt, and slowly it slipped away again, and then returned. In his clouded mind he almost wished he'd just taken some pills, so he went to sleep and then just, never woke up. That would have been better. But this way, he'd bring everyone around him down with him. This way they'd see his pain. Know what he went through. They'd know he hurt, they'd see it, and maybe for a split second they'd understand. That is if anybody even found him. If anybody even cared enough to go looking. He knew the boys would want the bathroom at some point, that maybe they'd get tired of the shower running constantly. None of these thoughts seemed to stay long though and slowly the pain from his bleeding arms faded, slowly he couldn't feel them anymore. Slowly nothing seemed to matter.

A young woman leaned over him, Kodee feeling as if he was a young boy "Are you hungry Kodee?" the woman asked, though some may have taken the voice as friendly Kodee knew it as taunting, as almost teasing, torturing him. He shook his head, blank look upon his hollow pale face. The woman smirked "C'mon Kodee, I know you're hungry, Don't lie to mommy" she cooed "Lying to mommy is a sin..you know lying to mommy is a sin" she leaned over and ran her fingers through his curly hair "You're hungry aren't you Kodee?" The boy finally nodded as a guilty look crossed his face, maybe this time it would be ok, maybe this time it wouldn't be like all the other times. The woman grinned "I knew my baby was hungry" she said and patted his head rewardingly "You can have food after you play with John, ok Kodee?" she said with a smile, kneeling down to her sons level. He shook his head "I don't wanna play" shy timid voice escaped from between the lips of the young boy. Frown crossed the womans face "Well you said you were hungry and momma's gonna take care of her baby, you just have to play with John first" she smiled warmly and leaned in, planting a little peck on her sons nose "Now run along..he's back in the bedroom" she smiled a little as she pointed down the hall "He's waiting for you...He just wants to play for a little while" she said with a tiny nod "And momma'll make her baby some food and then she might come play too, ok? Momma'll come play too" she smiled again and stood, kissing his forehead before turning him around so he face down the hall "Go play with John now." The young boys head shook "I don't wanna play" He said in the shame shy tone, but slowly fear was added to his voice. The mothers face turned stern then softened again "Go play Kodee" she said, still kind but firm "Remember to take your clothes off, you know John doesn't like to play when you have them on" she mumbled and slowly walked her son down the hall, pulling his shirt over his head as he went. They reached the last door on the right, young boy down to his underwear which his mother slipped from his body. She slowly opened the door and sent the young boy in before closing it behind him. Silent tears fell down the young boys cheeks as he looked upon the naked man that lay in the bed. The man motioned him over, pleasant smile on his lips "C'mon Kodee" he said kindly and slowly the crying boy went over. The young boy's skin had gone from decent colored to pale in a matter of secends, his ribs were countable and he was not a pretty sight. Slowly John helped the boy onto the bed. It wasn't long before the young boys cries filled the house, his screams and tears echoeing through out. His calls for John to stop, his calls of pain, filled the house. His mother would simply sit down on the couch and cry a little bit as she said a little prayer Lord please forgive me for my sins before she'd slowly wander down the hall, stripping herself. Soon she'd be in the bed, joining them. Watching John mess around with her son, messing around with John, messing around with her own son of only eight years old, then watching as he was forcefully beaten into messing around with his own mother. And at the end of it all "John said you weren't good...You don't get any food this time Kodee...sorry baby. You should have just done better. But mommy can't take care of her baby if he's not good."

Kodee's pale bleeding body quivered and a single tear escaped from his eye. He didn't notice the water being turned off. He didn't notice Maysa sitting with him. But he senced her. He could feel her warm presence, like that of a gaurdian angel. A gaurdian angel telling him to hold on, telling him there was a reason to hold on, telling him he could do it, he'd be ok. The warm presence stayed with him, helping him get through this.

The girl felt tears streaming down her face. She clung to his hand like it would help him somehow. She knew it wouldn't. She could feel him slipping away from her, in and out, but each time he seemed farther and farther away. She clung to his cold hand, and satthere for what seemed like an eternity.

After a while, though it was really only a matter of seconds, she felt tears streaming down her face, realized they were racking her chest and stomach, feeling mildly ashamed. It wasn't even like anything was happening to her. But..it hurt..to feel him slipping away like that, knowing she couldn't do anything. She could almost hear him scream, even though no real sound was emitted from his lips.

She sniffed. "Kodee," she whispered, wipping her nose with her free hand, rubbing her thumb gently across the back of his hand. "Kodee," she mumbled, and gasped as a sob too big for her poor throat thrust it's way out. She hiccuped sort of, and felt a terrifying moment of choking before taking a deep breath, then another, telling her that it was ok, that she was ok. That an ambulance was on its way, even now, that it wouldn't be long before Kodee would get help.

"Kodee," she whipsered, rocking gently back and forth, still holding onto his cold hand, sobbing softly, her head jerking as emitt came into the room. She didn't know what to do. She felt a moment of insecurity. What if she was blamed? Accused of killing him. She hadn't. But she just quietly closed the door, and waited, forcing her sobs down, after a few moments flicking off the light right before the light in the main room went off, so the boy wouldn't suspect, although she fully expected Beth to come bursting through the door at any minute, breathless, panting, gently ushering her out of the way so the ambulance could get in.

But, although she had never thought of it, it hit her now. The ambulance couldn't get up this path. What if he lost his life during the treck down the trail. "Oh Kodee, Kodee," she whispered. "Why didn't you tell me?" She was still rocking softly, trying not to be too loud, so as to let Emitt suspect of her presense. She sniffed softly again, clinging to him as if it would help. "Kodee Kodee," she chanted quietly, desperately wishing he would come back around. "Oh Kodee..." She pressed his cold hand to her cheek, still rocking, keeping herself moving so she wouldn't do something spastic, like punch a wall. That would definately tell Emitt she was there. She put his hand to her lips, unaware of how her chanting was so much like his mother's. Maybe her soft voice, chiding him to come back around, to come back to her, was what caused his flashback, the flashback to such a painful time in his life. But Maysa didn't know it. She wasn't trying to make things even worse.

"Oh Kodee," she whispered again.

Kodee could feel warmth against his hand as it was pressed to her cheek, he could hear a soft voice, he could feel something nagging him to hang in there. But he couldn't respond, his barely there mind could only speak to the gaurdian angel that stood before him what If I don't want to hang on it asked bitterly It just hurts too much. I don't wanna be here anymore. Kodee's pale hand went limp in Maysa's hands and his breathe stopped. Hours seemed to tick but in reality it was only a matter of seconds before a gasp for breathe came from him. Still he couldn't respond, barely aware to the fact of Maysa there.

Young boy sat on the big squishy 60s patterned couch that sat in the middle of the living room of the apartment, he stared at the tv, his face set, eyes blank, watching The smurfs on the television. Wishing he was little like that, in a world where all you had to fear was a cat. In a world where bunches of little friendly blue people lived all around you, where you lived in the safety of the woods, where everyone was your friend and they helped you out through tough times which weren't even really all that tough. Yes the nine year old that sat on the couch, that was all he wanted. He wore no shirt, no pants, just underwear which weren't even really underwear, it was a old hand towel that he'd added safety pins too, that he'd made for himself since all his other underwear were dirty, since no one did any laundry, and he wasn't usually allowed to use the bathroom, all his other underwear filled with his own urine and fecies. He gazed at the tv, not even paying attention to how hot it was in the apartment as the hot summer sun beat through the small barely there window onto his pale back. Barely noticing the lack of air conditioner and the refusal John and his mother had of opening any windows. He didn't notice as he gazed at the tv, lost in his own little world. His ears strained to listen to the words of the smurfs on the tv, the volume down low, he didn't want them to know he was watching it, knowing he'd have a beating coming his way if they found out. The only way he got away with it now was because they were wrapped up in there own little world, getting it on in the back bedroom of the small apartment. Kodee ignored the screams of his mother as she was tortured back there. He ignored the fact that the only light that shown into the place was through the small window behind him. All the other windows in the house were blocked with thick black peices of plastic, letting no one see in or out. Windows were never opened and Kodee never got fresh air. He lived in the stench of his own fecies and the cats, he lived in the stench of cigarette smoke and the smell of weed. But he didn't care, he didn't even seemed to notice, that was normal to him, that was what he knew, he didn't even realize that there was any other way of living.

The boy startled as a loud knock was heard on the door of the apartment and in the blink of an eyes the tv was flipped off. The door to the back bedroom was flung over, knocking into the wall, making a loud banging sound. The cries of his mother were more audible now as John stormed down the hall, pulling his boxers up. Kodee flopped sideways on the couch, pretending to be asleep. His tummy groaned and hollared and he ignored it, used to it now. His eyes remained closed as he listened. Appearing completely asleep, almost dead as he held his breathe, not even noticing he was doing so. John peeked through the peek hole before unlocking the many locks on the door, a group of three men and one woman coming into the apartment. They stayed by the door, there words whispers, Kodee unable to hear them but he didn't dare open his eyes. He heard the squeek in the floor as his mother came down the hall from the bedroom, pulling her hair back into a ponytail. She'd slipped into a silky robe, hiding the bruises on her body, her face holding pain but she put a smile on to greet the guests. John glanced over at her and smiled, introducing her to the four that had entered "Go wake him up!" he ordered, pointing in the direction Kodee was. His mother nodded and went into the living room as John led the people into the kitchen where they rolled joints. Kodee's mother went to his side, her cheeks still tear stained and she leaned over, gently kissing her sons cheek "Kodee, baby, time to wake up, momma wants her baby to wake up now" she said quietly. Kodee ignored her, playing the sleeping part well, he'd come to master it, sometimes, it even got him off the hook of having to play with John. She sighed and shook his gently "Kodee, wake up baby" she said and kissed his cheek again. Again she was ignored. She shook her head "Kodee!" she said, patience gone, and her hand brushed across his cheek. Startled by this the boy sat up, looking at his mother as his hand raised to his cheek, he should have known. Smile crossed the lips of the woman "Thats my baby" she murmered and leaned over, picking her son up. Nine years old and he seemed to only be about the weight of a five year old. She took him in her arms motheringly "Thats my baby" she cooed again and smiled, leaning in and kissing his cheek. Gently he raised a hand and touched her tear stained cheek, eyes on hers and slowly she shook her head "Momma's fine" she mumbled as she started to the kitchen. John looked over at smirked, a joint between his lips, lighting it. The others already having theres. A couple beers had been pulled from the fridge and set on the counter. John held a joint out to Kodee's mother and she took it gratefully, smiling, setting her son on the counter. She lit the joint and inhaled from it deeply, relaxed feeling crossing her face. John looked to Kodee "The six of us are gonna play Kodee" he smiled a little bit and Kodee shook his head. John's smile faded "You don't want to play?" he mumbled, seeming almost sympathetic, like maybe he might change his mind. Kodee shook his head again but regretted it for the rest of his life. John grabbed him by his hair with such force and tossed the light boy across the kitchen into the fridge, John left with a chunk of Kodee's hair in his hand. His mother gasped and stepped back as her son fell limp to the floor. John smirked "You still don't want to play Kodee" he mumbled as he walked over, inhaling from his joint again. No response. Kodee was kicked in the gut and he winced. John smirked again "Still don't want to play Kodee?" he repeated, his foot ready to kick again. Kodee gasped "I wanna play!" his tearful voice called out and John grinned, picking the young boy up off the ground. He gave him a hug and smiled "Thats my boy, huh Kodee?" he said and went back to the counter, setting the boy on it. Kodee hid his pain well, aching, feeling as if he might just die now, barely even aware of what was going on, concussion probably.

After the adults were good and high they wandered out to the living room. John turned on porn (If you don't know what that is its sex videos) and the adults were soon all over eachother, stripping eachother and messing around. The young woman, known as Kodee's mother, messed around with one of the men, he beat her around a little bit, not at all being gentle with her and Kodee watched tears fall down his mothers face. The other woman that had come with the men wandered to Kodee, her shirt, pants, and bra off, her thong all that was remaining. She kneeled down, a warm smile on her face. She was pretty, un like his mother, her hair was fairly short, chin length and brown. She wore make up on her face and she looked young, maybe only twenty. She looked nice and for a split second Kodee felt ok. She gently took him into her grasp "Hi Kodee" she whispered, running her hand up the side of his face, fingers going into his hair and brushing through it "My name is Taluah" she said quietly, warm smile still on her face. He nodded a little bit as she patted his tummy gently. She smiled again and gently leaned in, kissing his little lips softly "You're a very sweet little boy" she said quietly as she gently ran her hand down his arm to his wrist, grasping it gently to place his hands on her breasts. She slowly guided his hands over her, having him touch her in all the right places, occasionally kissing his lips. She had him touch her and grasp her breasts, her lips against his, she moaned, startling Kodee. She let his hands fall from her and she smiled at him again "C'mon Kodee, lets go back to the bedroom, get you away from these crazy people, huh?" she chucked a bit and picked him up in her arms, taking him back to the bedroom.

In the bedroom she was kind to him, well as kind as he'd ever known anyone to be, and slowly she walked him through the stages of sex. Having him do her, and having him do her as hard as he could. She had him use his hands too. But she wasn't mean about it, she was nice, and Kodee couldn't help but feel a little safer with her. She let him have a break, so she could break too. The sounds from the other room filled the bedroom as they lay on the bed, the girl breathing heavy. And before long she had them going at it again..

These people visited alot after that, and each time Taluah and Kodee would disapear back to the bedroom. Kodee liked it when Taluah came, she'd bring nice treats with her, and if he did her good he would always get something. He liked her better then John and his mother and it got to the point of him looking forward to them coming. Looking forward to seeing Taluah. Couldn't wait until the next time he got to see her. Couldn't wait to get his hands on her so he could have a nice treat. He grew to trust her. And he sooned learned she wasn't much older then him, she was actually only 15, 15, she was young like him. She was the daughter of one of the men that came, and she had somewhat of a life like Kodee's or so she told him. But it wasn't long at all before things with Taluah weren't so fun anymore. Soon she started bringing 'toys' to mess around with. Soon she wanted him to start beating her in their sessions and then she wanted to be able to beat him. And she did. Soon the beatings grew harder and the treats stopped coming. Soon there was no reward. And soon the others wanted to be in the bedroom too, at first they just wanted to watch. But soon they joined in on things and Taluah let them. She let them. Kodee fell into much hurt, that someone he loved, could do that to him. And his trust for women was lost. Gone. He would never trust another again. He couldn't. Not after that...

The Barely there Kodee could hear as his name was repeated but he couldn't answer. He gazed at the figure that he took as he gaurdian angel, his mind talking to her It hurts too bad...I can't hang on. Didn't you see that?! I can't stay here. The motionless Kodee stirred as his head shook No! I can't trust you. Why would it be any diffrent now?! Why would things hurt any less!? I can't stay here I need to go! I don't wanna be here anymore! You can't make me stay! You can't! No You can't...you can't! Kodee's barely alive body seemed to become more alive as his worry and anger towards this gaurdian angel grew. He seemed to come more alive as he argued. His head shook again, and more blood came from his arms. He was mad at that stupid angel, who was it to tell him life would get better. But in reality, it knew, it knew he didn't wanna be here, and it knew that the more worked up he got the more he'd stay alive. And it knew he'd make it through this. It knew someday Kodee would be happy. It knew.. How? Cause it knew the ruler of the world. The King of all the world told it, and it knew it'd be ok, that it was doing the right thing, cause the Father told it. He told it that Kodee would be ok... << --- *lil smile* *ish still depressed* BUT *lil smile*

<< -- Haha..its really long!

The girl watched him. Something in her stirred. A part of her wanted to let him go, to let him fall away from everything, even, though she hated to think it, from her. But she knew she couldn't. She knew that he still had a life to live, even though, right now, for the moment, it wasn't much of one. "It'll be ok," she whispered as his head lolled and turned, like he was fighting with someone. Maybe he was. How was she to know what was going on in his poor, delerious head. "Oh Kodee," she whispered, pushing herself to her haunches, until she was ballanced on her toes and the balls of her feet. "Oh Kodee," she whispered again, wondering if he heard her, wondering if he cared if he could hear her. She gently brushed his shaggy brown curls away from his eyes. If he made it through this, she'd have to have him get it cut.

Something stirred in her again. She stilled. It was something she had only heard about. Something she had never believed really happened, but somethnig inside her sitrred. Somewhere in the very depths of her soul, she heard a whisper. She could barely hear it, even though she was still. Wasn't that how that verse went? "Be still and know that I am god." She didn't know where it came from, where she had heard it even, but, for whatever reason, her heart and soul had clung to that piece of scripture. And so it was that Maysa sat there, still as a rock. Her heart pounded, her breathing became a little harsher. But it was excitement. Because suddenly, she realized. What that last foster home had told her, what the severe woman and toothpick of a man had told her, over and over and over again. They had told here there was a God. That she only needed to let him take controll of her life. She had screamed at them when they told her that, and now guilt nagged at her conciounse. She hadn't believed them, but they hadn't lied to her.

God whispered again, and Maysa stilled even more, her breathing slowing, heart still pounding in her temples, struggling to hear what this God had to stay. Hold on something in her whispered. Hold on.

She felt warm tears slip down her cheeks, but they weren't the same kind of tears, weren't the tears that had plauged her upon finding her newest friend in this state. It was a different kind, a relieved kind of crying, like some burden had been lifted from her shoulders. Somehow, she felt like she didn't have to walk alone. She felt peaceful for the first time in her memory. She sat there, holding Kodee's hand. "Shhh," she whispered, as his head lolled again. "It'll be ok, Kodee," she whispered, sniffing a bit. Her thoughts wandered, and she gave Kodee's hand another, encouraging squeeze. She thought of the stories she had been told, but one in particular flashed across her mind. It was a story she had been told often, that she had felt the most connected with, even though she didn't want to hear these stories at all.

Tears streamed down His face as the crown of thorns was laid upon His head, as the cane crashed down upon His head, making sure that the thorns were pressed well within his skull. He cried as He was beaten, lashed with a whip until his back hardly held flesh, until it only bled to show muscle. He cried as His hands were nailed to the cross, as he was demanded to carry his cross up the hill Golgatha, Place of Skulls, to be crusified. The man would always pause here, to remind Maysa that Jesus carried His cross because Christians were supposed to carry their's. They were supposed to openly show the world that they were Christians.

Maysa couldn't finish the story playing in her head. The words rang in her head. Carry your cross. Carry your cross A quiet chant to keep her still. But Beth had burst in the door, Emitt was demanding what was going on, but Beth wouldn't answer. She just threw open the door to the bathroom, and Maysa quickly stepped aside, sitting on the toilet bowl as the huffing and puffing paramedics bent over Kodee, their hands soft, checking his heartbeat, his temperature, and then falling into the solid team they were. They both helped get him on the streture, an air of urgency about the way they moved. One wrapped up his arms as the other talked to Beth in hushed tones. Mays aglanced up only once, as Beth pointed to her. Lovely. She owuld hvae to answer questions. In a way, she had known...

She watched, trying hard not to cry, as the paramedics whisked the stretcher, and Kodee, away out of the room. Beth went out into the main room of the dorm to watch them, before coming back to kneel by Maysa, gently putting her arms around the girl, holding her, and, for the first time in a long time, Maysa really confided in an adult. Adults, well, people in general, weren't to be trusted. She had gotten over that, but adults were still scary to her, but here, crying, she told Beth how she hadn't know. How she'd known only a little of his history, how she would have stopped him if she had known...But, probably, most painfully, how she wished she hadn't let him go, how she would have kept him with her until lights out, even if it woudln't have made much difference. Would a little more time have changed things? Who knew. Beth didn't say anything, just sat there, holding a shaking Maysa, before telling her she was going to go down to the big house to get dressed (she was still in her bathrobe) and then they could both go see what the sitch was with Kodee. Maysa nodded, wiping her eyes, following blindly as Beth led her along...
